An Oak Dresser doesn't have to be Old Fashioned !
Shown here is a bespoke dresser or display/storage unit made of oak.
The brief from my clients was for a piece of furniture that was essentially going to function as a dresser, i.e. to put crockery and other kitchen/dining items on shelves and then have some cupboard storage beneath.
However, the clients didn’t want something that looked like a traditional dresser and the item was to complement both the kitchen and dining areas of the room that it would be placed in.
I came up with a few designs for them to choose from, but by far the best for them was this contemporary style dresser, which functions exactly as they planned, but also has an elegant and modern style that fits in with both the kitchen and dining area furniture.
The cupboard doors are made to stand out and add interest to the dresser overall, with the addition of a pattern in oak, bog oak and ash veneers.
