A beautiful Console Table and Narrow Desk in one
To make this narrow desk, a single board of waney edged (live edged) Elm has been mitre jointed and an impression of draped cloth achieved by finishing one side of the desk above floor level. A straighter grain and different shade Elm has been used for the supporting frames to provide contrast with the wild grain of the main piece.
This piece is perfect for use as a discreet desk for perching and writing or using a laptop/tablet. It would also be ideal for the smaller home where a slim desk will fit into place without overwhelming a room. Quite an important consideration in these days of more home-working.
With its own matching stool!
A matching stool has been made to accompany the desk. The stool can be tucked out of the way underneath the desk when not in use, providing a work seat that is unobtrusive and matches the material and workmanship of the desk itself.
The stool has a secret! A little pen/pencils box underneath the top, held up with magnets. It is easily removed and replaced and holds in place firmly if the stool is moved. A handy and practical little addition to this piece.
